VMA'S 2015...

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a good Sunday and your Monday is starting off on a positive note for the week. I have a lot of exciting things happening this week one which I will write about in my blog next Saturday. For today however, as promised I am going to talk about the VMA’S...or at least attempt to. This year I have to say I was beyond disappointed with not only the VMA’S but also the red carpet. I never thought I would ever say this but only one person killed it on the runway for me. I truly love this person. I think she’s a fantastic role model and she has an incredible wardrobe that I would love to steal but she was also the only person that I saw that looked truly beautiful last night. I thought a lot of the celebrities tried to hard with their looks. A lot were showing off way to much skin, which don’t get me wrong I wear my share of crop tops, but there are limits and I think it was just too much skin last night. So my best dressed of the night was no other then Vanessa Hudgens. Her dress was beyond breathtaking. The dusty pink color of her gown was a perfect transition from summer to fall which is right around the corner. Its big flowers  gave this dress the perfect touch to dress up the look. As for her jewelry, she wore all gold accessories which paired very nicely with the dusty pink of her dress. She wore quite a few necklaces layered but it wasn’t so much that it distracted from the dress.  She wore an entire hand full of rings but like I said before it was just enough that it didn’t draw any attention away from her dress. I loved that she had her hair is light waves with two braids pulled back . It was very simple yet very beautiful. Honestly she kills it wherever she goes. She is definitely the number one celebrity whose closet I would love to have.
As for  the VMA’s itself, I thought it was just a very bad award show. I think every year the VMA’s get worse and worse. I think they need to just stop doing it all together. I didn’t see one reaction on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, etc. that didn’t say how awful the show was.

The performances  this year were very random. However, my favorite was when Demi Lovato brought out Iggy Azalea. I think it really made the song different which is always a good thing. I also really enjoyed Nick Jonas at the pre-show because besides his new song being fantastic I mean come on its Nick Jonas. I think that this award show was more of a joke than anything else which is really sad considering how hard these artists work on their music and  videos. Instead of being recognized for their hard work it’s more of parody video. I think MTV really needs to step up their game next year and figure out a way to revamp this award show because it’s going downhill real quick. Honestly I would like to know how you all felt about it because I know I am not the only one who felt this way but maybe I am but in any case I still want to know how you felt. Sorry this post couldn’t be longer for you guys. It’s just I literally have nothing more to say about this award show which honestly I am shocked. However I know I will have a lot to say this Saturday when I discuss the 5 Seconds Of Summer concert I am going to on Wednesday!! Absolutely love them. Such incredible artists who I was lucky enough to meet last week which I will talk a little about on Saturday. I will be posting my thoughts on the show and of course my choice in clothing because honestly what would you expect. Until then I hope everyone has a fantastic week and enjoy the rest of summer because boy it’s been hot the past few days! Talk to you all soon!

Sincerely, Sam

Brooklyn Botanic Gardens...

Hello everyone! So I know I have been mia for a week or so and was supposed to upload my best dressed for the Teen Choice Awards but some last minute things came up and I wasn’t able to post which I am very very sorry for. But to make it up to you I am going to do one post today about my mother daughter day at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens and then tomorrow (Monday) I am going to post my best dressed and my thoughts on the MTV VMA’s. I absolutely promise tomorrow you will get this post because I am honestly so excited about the awards (mainly the red carpet) so just keep an eye out for it.

However, before the VMA’S, I am going to tell you all about my day at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. If you live in New York or come on vacation I 100% recommend going to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. Not only was it very peaceful and relaxing but it was extremely beautiful. I’ve always loved nature but after my trip to California and even after spending my time abroad I have found a new love for the outdoors and nature. The last time I went to the Botanic Gardens I was a baby so I don’t remember going at all and I kept telling my mom all summer how I so badly wanted to go and we finally did! Although we probably didn’t pick the best day, because it was very hot and humid, we still had a great day. My favorite part of the entire gardens was the Lily pond. Since I was little I have always loved lily’s, sunflowers and peonies so to be able to see an entire pond of different types of lily’s was absolutely stunning. My mom loved the Japanese garden which was absolutely incredible. I can’t put into words how breathtaking it was but I will post pictures below which in my opinion doesn’t do it justice. The best time of year to go I would say would be in the Spring. This way you can see the Cherry Blossoms in bloom. My mom and I plan to go back in the Spring so we can see them. If you do go and you are a student bring your student id because you do get a discount. Honestly it wasn’t expensive to go. I think, for both my mom and I, it came out to under $20. They say you can’t bring food in, only water, but they weren’t checking any bags but just to be safe I would say don’t risk it. They have a little cafe inside but they didn’t have the best food options so I would say eat before you go. We did spend quite a few hours here but it was so much fun time just flew by.

I had such a great day yesterday with my mom I can’t wait to go back with her in the Spring time. Like I said I 100% recommend going here. It was so relaxing and it’s such a beautiful place to go with friends, family, kids or even a date so I would definitely consider it. Like I said I will be posting tomorrow about the VMA’S so don’t forget to come back tomorrow and check it out! Until then I hope you have an amazing and relaxing Sunday. Talk soon!

Sincerely, Sam

Things are getting loopy...

Hello everyone! I know it’s Sunday and I said I would post Saturday but I had a lot of things going on this week so I was delayed a little bit. I am posting today for you guys instead. I am really excited about today’s blog post because I had such a good time here and I know you all will also. On Saturday night Jamie and I went to this rooftop bar in the city called Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar. It is located in the Conrad hotel in Battery Park City. I am sure you have seen pictures on Instagram because it is extremely Instagram worthy but I will post pictures at the bottom of this post. They are known for having an ice pop in your wine. Right now you are probably like what are you talking about but I swear it will all make sense once you see the pictures. Before that let me give you a little backstory with it so you know what to expect if you pay a visit. Since it’s a rooftop bar it can’t hold an insane amount of people so they do let you put your name on a list and once the bar isn’t over occupancy they send you a text message to tell you that you are allowed up. This is a great idea because it gives you a chance to walk around and explore a little bit because the water is about a block away so it’s nice to not just have to sit and wait for your name to be called. However my one and only complaint was that since the bar is very tiny they don’t have enough seats for everyone so people are standing on top of people and it gets very hot so it becomes a little unbearable especially on those hot summer days. Jamie and I got lucky enough to get a seat right away but some people I saw were standing for 2 hours. However the entire rooftop has an incredible view of the city so you will see the gorgeous view no matter where you are.

Another thing to keep in mind is the time of day you want to go because like I said this place is very Instagram worthy between the drink and the view. My suggestion is to go before the sun sets because if you go at night you won’t get a great picture of the drink because it’s dark and the flash will reflect off the glass. I went at 7:30 and I would honestly say it was the absolute perfect time because we got to watch the sunset and it was absolutely gorgeous. Pictures will follow. When it comes to what to wear you can dress very casual  I was in a long sleeve sundress with a little pair of heels. Jamie was in a dress and she wore sandals. I saw some people very dressed up and some in just jeans so just dress for comfort. Keep in mind that this bar is only open from April to October so if you want to go soon is probably better. The prices are a little pricy but not too bad considering it is the city and the view is incredible. The drinks with the ice pops come out to $22 each but you have more than enough that you will only need one drink. They have about five flavors of these drinks so far because it is fairly new so I am sure they will start to make more flavors but Jamie and I both got the strawberry peach margarita prosecco. It was out of this world. I absolutely loved it. It was sweet but still had that wine taste. I loved it so much that I will definitely be going back. They don’t serve food however, downstairs from the hotel, they have a Chinese food place, an Italian place and a Shake Shack so you can eat either before or after if you were hungry. I highly recommend this place because I had a really great time and I know you will also. If you visit here please let me know because I want to hear all about your experience. For more pictures and updates my Twitter and Instagram is listed above so come say hi. Come back next week when I discuss my best dressed at the Teen Choice Awards. Very very excited about that! I hope you have a great week ahead of you and I will talk to you soon.

Sincerely, Sam

On the road again...

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a great start to your weekend. Maybe it’s a beach day where you are from, which I would definitely take advantage of because unfortunately the beach days are becoming limited. New York has finally been having some nice weather the past few weeks so hopefully I can get myself to the beach one day this weekend, this way I can work on my tan before summer ends! So as you may know I was able to go to the One Direction On the Road Again tour on Wednesday at Metlife Stadium which was AMAZING!!! My best friend Jamie and I went, and with zero shame we are both very big fans. We saw them for the Where We Are tour last year at Metlife as well but these are two completely different tours. If you weren’t sure if they would be the same tour or not and didn’t get tickets I am here to tell you they were completely different and you should definitely get tickets! Somehow Jamie and I managed to get second row tickets right near the catwalk for very cheap. So yes it was a magical experience. They started the show with a bang when they had an incredible fireworks display that honestly scared me a little because I wasn’t expecting it so soon haha.

They sang all my favorite songs off the newest album ‘Four’ including my favorite Act My Age. I was dancing like crazy throughout this entire song because how could you not it’s so catchy!!! I have to say my absolute favorite part was hearing them perform Drag Me Down which is the newest single off the new album which comes out later this year. If you haven’t heard it go to iTunes right now and buy it because you won’t regret it! When I first heard it I thought it sounded like Maroon 5 and I still do which is good because this is a new sound for One Direction which is always a positive thing so you can switch things up a bit. Now of course you know it isn’t the end of a blog post until I tell you all about what I was wearing to this haha! So for this concert I wore a black halter crop top and paired it with a big statement necklace, I wore black high waisted shorts and these sneaker kind of heels (which are my favorite shoes in the world). This was a very simple look but the statement necklace really helped the outfit come to life. Jamie wore a tribal/fringe tank top a pair of black shorts and paired it with her really cute arrow sandals. We both had very different looks it just depends on your style and how comfortable you want to be all night. I use any excuse to wear heels so I just went for it. If you follow me on Snapchat then I am very sorry you didn’t get to see any pictures or videos on my story but that would be because Metlife has the worst service of all time so after the show was over and I went to Snapchat to repost them every single one of my pictures/videos got deleted. If you were at Metlife can you please let me know if this was also a problem for you because I was so angry!!! However good news is that Jamie and I plan to go to the Philadelphia show in September because my brother lives right by there so hopefully they have better service and I can snap my little life away haha. If you went or are planning to go to any of these shows please let me know how you liked it or what you wore because I am very interested in knowing! Down below I will post some pictures of the concert so just keep scrolling. Come back next week when I discuss a new place in the city that has very quickly become Instagram famous! You won’t want to miss out on that! Until then I hope everyone has an amazing weekend and a great week ahead. Talk soon!

Sincerely, Sam

Bethany Mota...

Hello everyone! Happy Saturday and also happy August! I can’t believe it’s already August 1 st. That’s insane! Summer is unfortunately flying by and I am not excited about it at all! However I do still have some fun stuff coming up which is exciting. I had a very exciting and fun day on Monday which I am going to share with you all today because it was such an amazing experience and it couldn’t have gone any better.

So if you don’t know I am like secretly obsessed with watching YouTube videos because I feel like you can learn so much about a product, learn about new thing with a tutorial, or even about a person. My absolute favorite YouTubber is Bethany Mota. I am sure she needs no introduction but I will give a little background on her. Bethany first started making YouTube videos when she was being bullied in school as a way to find peace. Her viewers grew and grew every week and she now currently has 9,142,558 subscribers. Since then she was on one of my absolute favorite shows Dancing with the Stars, where she came in third place, and she has her very own clothing line at Aeropostale. So when I found out she was doing a free meet and greet in New York as part of her Road Trip I knew I had to go. The meet and greet started at 3pm and I got on line at about 9:30. I know you’re probably thinking that was a long time to wait but by the time I got there the line was 2 blocks long. The first person online had to have gotten there at about 7am. I went with my best friend Jamie who was kind enough to go with me and wait. I didn’t mind waiting because I really look up to Bethany. I think she’s a fantastic role model for young girls and she has inspired me to stop saying I want to write a blog and start actually doing it. If you don’t watch her videos I will link her channel below so you can take a look. When it was my turn to meet Bethany she was so sweet she automatically had her arms open for a hug and after we took the picture we had an entire discussion on Dancing with the Stars because I absolutely loved her on it and needed to discuss it with her. She was wearing a white lace dress that is in her new line for the fall at Aeropostale. The rest of her fall line is so cute. It was perfectly done for the upcoming fashion of fall so if you need to find a back to school outfit go check out her line. Along with her clothing line being released, she put out a new perfume and oh my gosh guys I can’t get over how amazing it is. The bottle is first off beautiful. It’s shaped like a heart with a little bit of lace and it smells just like cotton candy. The perfume is a really good price, it’s only $25, and if it’s anything like her first perfume it will last you a long time. Her first perfume is also amazing. I do own both because they just smell incredible. Whenever I wear her perfume I always get compliments on it and come on who doesn’t love to be complimented? If you are in a mall go into Aeropostale and check out her line and her perfume and tell me what you think!

I had such an amazing time this Monday and I am so grateful to have even gotten the chance to meet Bethany but then to also have a conversation with her was an extra bonus. This week is also going to be an exciting one because I am going to see One Direction! Come on who doesn’t love them am I right? Lol so come back next Saturday when I discuss the One Direction concert including my outfit and the setlist and just everything about it. Trust me you won’t want to miss it. Have a great Saturday and a great week. Talk to you very soon!

Sincerely, Sam

California here we come...

Hello everyone! I am finally back which is bittersweet. As you know I spent the last 10 days in California! I can’t even begin to explain how amazing it was but I will try my hardest. I tried to vlog as much as I could but I was so capsulated by everything I saw that sometimes I forgot. I did take some videos though and I made them into a little video for you guys that I will link below if you want to watch. I also will be posting some pictures so you can see more from my trip. I posted some other pictures on my Instagram and I know for a fact I will be posting more because I had to many to Instagram! So if you want to see even more from my trip my Instagram and my Twitter is linked above so give it a follow and tell me you’re from here so we can chat!

The first day we got to California we just had a chill day where we explored a little bit and most importantly went to In-N-Out Burger. If you haven’t had In-N-Out I really feel horrible because it is amazing and it needs to make its way from just the west coast to the east coast because everyone needs some In-N-Out Burger in their life. Later that night we stumbled upon The Beverly Hills Hotel where we somehow managed to get a private tour which was insane because that hotel is beyond gorgeous. A few days later we actually went back to get dessert and some cocktails which if you are visiting California I definitely recommend because it’s an incredible experience. The next day was a beautiful sunny hot day so what better way to spend it then at Venice beach. Honestly this was beyond beautiful. When I first got there my mouth dropped open. Yes you’re probably thinking it’s just a beach and they have beaches everywhere but something about it was just so incredible I didn’t want to leave. Later that night we went to one of my favorite parts in California, Santa Monica. This was insane. They literally have a little amusement park on the boardwalk and at night with all the lights lit up and stuff it was just incredible. Of course I indulged on mint chocolate chip ice cream. How could I pass that up?! The next day was actually Jamie’s birthday so we spent it at Rodeo Drive doing what we do best...shopping. While we were in one of the shops we actually ran into Rick Ross. It was cool to see someone famous. Although we didn’t ask for a picture it was still cool to just run into someone. Also we visited the huge Beverly Hills sign. Beverly Hills is also one of my favorite parts of California. The houses are insanely beautiful and they have the most beautiful palm trees on every street.

The next day was an adventure let me tell you. Jamie and I thought it would be a good idea to not only do one hike but two. We picked the absolute worst day to do this because besides it being hot,  the humidity was unreal. We first hiked Runyon Canon which had an incredible view of all of LA. By the end of this hike we were actually dying. Clearly we are not in good shape. But if you are going to the LA area I do suggest you do this hike because the view really was beautiful and its unlike anything you will ever see. The second hike however was my favorite because we hiked up to the Hollywood sign. Yes you read that right! It was still hot during this time because the sun was still shining but it was more breezy so it wasn’t as bad. I can’t even begin to explain how insane this was. If you go or have been to California you know when you see the Hollywood sign you can’t really see it or get to close to it so with a little research Jamie and I found where you can hike and get a better view of this beautiful landmark. Of course once I got there I started singing almost every song that mentions anything about the Hollywood sign but come on everyone probably does this! Later that night we took a visit to the Urban Lights which was incredible.  I definitely want to get proposed to there because I have never seen anything like that. Of course I did some dance moves while I was there because it was a perfect place for it. The next day we did one of my favorite things on the entire trip. We did a Warner Brothers studio tour. Yes it was a little pricy but it was definitely worth it. We got to go on the actual sets of The Fosters, 2 Broke Girls and Pretty Little Liars. Yes I said Pretty Little Liars which means now there is a high possibility that I am A hehe. All three of these sets are actually for my favorite shows so this was insane like you wouldn’t believe. It’s amazing  how different everything is in person compared to the show. It was 100% worth it because you will never get an experience like this again. The next day we went to the Walk of Fame. If you are going and you have specific stars you want to see my best advice would be to get the address of the star because the Walk of Fame goes on for blocks and blocks on both sides of the street and you will never get to see the ones you really want without looking up the address. This was pretty cool except it was very crowded so it is hard to take picture but still it’s a must do when you go to California. The last day in LA we spent it at the Grove which is an outdoor shopping mall and also farmers market. This was good because they had amazing food in the farmers market and an insane amount of options to choose from.

The next day we were off to Disneyland!!! We got to go for the 60th anniversary which was great because it was the diamond age so everything was glittery and sparkly and just beautiful. We went to California Adventure the first day which has more of the rides. My two ride suggestions is Cars Land and Screamin. Those had really long waits but was so worth it because it was really cool. While we were in the park we actually ran into Miranda Cosgrove who was so sweet and actually complemented us on our homemade Mickey ears. We spent the rest of the day at the park and stayed to watch the shows at night which were beautiful. The next and last day of our trip we spent it in Disneyland’s main park where we met every princess and some more characters which is always fun. We saw three shows but my favorite was the Paint the Night show. You can actually find this show on Youtube and I highly suggest it because it was the greatest show I have ever seen. The lights, costumes and floats were insane. Disney really knows how to put on a great show and made our last day the best! Unfortunately for us our trip then came to an end which is the worst part of any trip because then it means back to reality. I can definitely say this won’t be my last time in California because I absolutely loved it and had the time of my life with my best friend. So sorry this post was so long but I had to tell you all about my trip! Come back next week when I discuss one of my favorite Youtubbers Bethany Mota’s new perfume and my experience meeting her. You don’t want to miss that! Until then have an amazing week!

Sincerely, Sam

Rock this country...

Hello everyone! Happy Saturday! I am so excited for this weekend to be over because that means I am off to California!!! So, since I am going to California for 10 days, I won’t be able to post while I am away. The next time I will post will be July 25. Which I know sounds like a long time but it’s not too long and I promise a really good post when I get back!! However for today, like promised, I am going to discuss the amazing Shania Twain concert I went to on Tuesday night!

So if you didn’t know on Tuesday July 7th I celebrated my 23rd birthday. Which is crazy to think that I am already 23 years old! I had such a good birthday. I got some really great gifts and best of all I went to see my idol since I was a little girl in concert for the first time with my family. When I was little my dad and I always loved country music but my absolute favorite country star was Shania Twain. I never got to see her in concert when I was little so when I heard she was doing her farewell tour I knew I had to go! I bought tickets back in March for my dad and I but he surprised me when he got tickets for my mom and brother also! At this point I couldn’t wait until July 7th because I wanted to go so bad. Now that it’s over all I have to say is WOW. She was amazing live. She was very conversational with the audience which I think is better because it makes you feel like part of the show. Her costumes were amazing and her setlist was incredible. I will post the setlist below in case anyone is curious as to what she sang. At the concert I saw a lot of people wearing cowboy hats and cowboy boots which was very appropriate because it was a country concert! I wore these tribal shorts that I got while I was in England at Urban Outfitters and I paired it with this black tank top that had an open back from Forever 21 with a statement necklace and my brand new beautiful black gladiators that I got from Topshop. While I was at the concert I had this amazing ice cream from Rita’s which I will post below because not only was it delicious but it was so colorful. If anyone has gone to any shows that are    part of Shania’s tour please let me know so we can discuss the queen of country. If you don’t have tickets and wasn’t sure if you should go all I have to say is you have to go! You won’t regret it and you will have an amazing time because she puts on one heck of a show. With that being said I will talk to you all on July 25th! If you want to see pictures from my trip to California you can follow me on Twitter and Instagram which is listed above and for even more pictures follow me on Snapchat which is Samchomin. I hope you all have an amazing two weeks and I can’t wait to talk to you soon and tell you all about my trip. Until then!

Sincerely, Sam
