Hello everyone! So last time we spoke a Royal Baby was being born and now one week later the baby is here! Even if you don’t live in England you knew about Kate Middelton going into labor because not only was it on every news channel in the world but it was also blowing up social media. Snapchat even had a special story for it! As you know England is my favorite place in the entire world so naturally I was freaking out and also loving the snapchat story. Since my time in England, I have become obsessed with the Royal family (which is totally normal right???) so when I heard Kate was finally going into labor I refreshed my twitter feed dying for details. If this was one year ago on the day she gave birth, Jamie and I would be camping out at Buckingham Palace or Saint Mary’s Hospital where Kate gave birth. You probably think this is a bit weird but for England this is what they do. It’s so great because the entire country supports the royal family so much and also how can you miss history being made?? Since Kate gave birth to a beautiful baby girl this is the first girl to have been born to a direct heir to the throne since the Queen gave birth to Princess Anne 64 years ago. As you can imagine, this is a big deal. I'm not sure if you have seen the pictures on social media about how insane the crowds were at Buckingham Palace and Saint Mary’s Hospital so I will post them I’ve been to Buckingham Palace and I have never seen anything like that.
The day Kate had the baby was the same day the entire world got to see her. At about 8:30pm England time, Kate and William came out of the hospital with Charlotte in their arms for the whole world to see. Kate looked amazing considering that just a few hours ago she gave birth! She looked extremely relaxed and almost glowed. Unfortunately we didn’t find out the name for another three days which was killing me because I wanted to know so badly! When they did announce the name they decided on Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge. When everyone started making guesses on what they would name her my first guess was Princess Diana after Prince William and Prince Harry’s mother. Although that isn’t the baby’s first name I absolutely loved that they put her name in there out of respect for her beautiful grandmother who, unfortunately, passed away a number of years ago in a terrible car accident. What I thought was extremely cool was the pink lights they put on the Tower Bridge to welcome the new royal baby. From someone who has seen and walked across the Tower Bridge, I didn’t think it could get much better until I saw it lit up in all pink. I was in awe of how beautiful this landmark was. I even loved how multiple news channels took the Union Jack and instead of the usual red, white and blue colors they made it pink, yellow and white to welcome Princess Charlotte. This baby was only 5 hours old and it was the most talked about baby in the world, which is insane to actually think about. Although the royal family doesn’t rule England anymore they still play a big part to the country. I, for one, love them and I have no shame admitting that! If you live in England and you have a story about the day Princess Charlotte was born please let me know because I am beyond curious and would love to live that experience through someone else! My twitter, instagram and tumblr are located above under my header so come say hi! Come back next week when I discuss Jamie and my instagram rules! You definitely will not want to miss that! I hope everyone has a good weekend and a great mothers day! Talk soon.
Sincerely, Sam
